I have seen many websites allowing visitors to download music albums of recent releases. They are getting good amount of traffic and earnings may be also good. What about the music copyrights, internet piracy acts? How is this websites managing and what is the loophole in the system? How are they making legal,if? What if I start a same website to allow download music? Shall cops put me behind bars?
Hey, Well first of all, Sharing Music/Movies files online is Absolutely Illegal and it can get you into huge mess. Now how do certain websites pull it off; well most of them do not host files on their personal servers instead the files are hosted in rapidshare, megaupload etc. And servers like rapidshare is not located in the United States. If you find movies online, you will notice that most of the sites state that the files are not hosted in their servers; they are just finding links online and posting it on their sites. Now if you are wondering how they make money, well the people who uploads the files make money when others download it. The more downloads, the better income. On the other side, people who are posting the links on their sites earn revenue through ads. I always believed that sharing music files is illegal but how about streaming movies and music online well piracy aint easy to Stop......
Hi Elite, It means you want to say that, if files are not hosted at own servers there is no risk involved?
HAHAHAHAHA have you read the internet news any time in the last five years? The RIAA has hunted down and killed every kitten they can find! Even The Pirate Bay, who's administrators have skirted the law for as long as I remember, and reside in a neutral country with no anti-piracy laws, were recently arrested and prosecuted with orders to serve prison sentences and pay millions in restitution. Realize that The Pirate Bay has never at any time hosted any of the actual files on their site. Fortunately for TPB they live in a country where they can reside outside of prison while they appeal and they're smart enough to figure out a way to get their fine paid by everyone else while costing the offending law firm money! The only real way to provide music online is to strike a deal with the record companies themselves and offer a share of profit. Of course these companies don't want to work with you. They have limitless resources and would much rather preserve their platform. They'll only work with you if you have the potential to threaten their profits for an extended period of time before they can shut you down. Unless you have as much money as NBC, CBS, Virgin Records, etc. move on the a more SANE niche.
It's illegal. You must contact the record companies and make a deal with them (it's very hard to do tough).
Its illegal, but in some countries running warez websites is not illegal, many of those website owners run their offshore servers and purchase private domain policy. Its somehow they managed to keep their website up, however they are absolutely break the internationall copyright policies.
Some Artist Release Their albums on Internet & Bit Torrent Network.. So Sharing Music is Legal If Artist Allows this to share, and its illegal if artist didn't allow
