Hi everyone, I don't post a lot here but I found a lot of really helpful informations here in the past, so thanks to everyone for sharing their knowledge!

I have a blog hosted on blogger (www.the-rise.com) on which I mainly post videos hosted on vimeo or youtube. When I want a post to get more attention, I paste the URL on my website's Facebook page and post it. Whenever it's a post containing a video from Youtube, Facebook will offer a choice of 2 images to display underneath the link: the first one is my website's logo and the second one is a screenshot from the youtube video (which is perfect). But when I want to do the same with a post containing a video hosted on Vimeo, Facebook offers me a choice of 2 pictures: my websites logo and the first ad in my sidebar. I want to know if there's a way to display a screenshot of a vimeo video that's in a blog post when I share it on facebook. I have tried to take a screenshot and upload it online and then put it in my post using the display:none html code assuming Facebook would see the code and use it, but it didn't work.

And I'm sure some of you will just tell me to switch to wordpress and I understand it might be a good move, but this is the only concern I have with blogger so if I manage to solve it everything will be perfect for me.

    Thanks a lot

You can use this site (http://socialmediabar.com) to mask your URL and share it in the social networks.

You can put a description and an Image you would like to use. Just upload the image on your site and the put in the link. Or you can also use TinyPic.com to get an image URL.

Try it out and then share it on Facebook.

Let me know how it goes!

    Hope it helps you man!

    Much success!

I don't know if there's really a way around that issue with Blogger. It's not just Blogger that it happens with from what I understand. You can always just choose not to display an image when all else fails.
