Hey guys, I thinking about allowing members of my article directory put their own adsense code on the article pages they write. What are your thoughts on that? I'm thinking maybe it will encourage them to write better articles and maybe they will help promote the site. Has anyone here tried doing this, if so what were the results? Furthermore, will google allow this?
lots of people are doing it. dont know if its all that good of an idea but i say try it out for a month and see what it does
There is a good many number of websites already doing it. The leaders like Hubpages are making lots of money.
I have heard conflicting reports on the amount of traffic a website should have before google will allow a split but what I want to do is allow members to put their own code on the articles they submit, no other adsense ads will be on the page. Do you know if this is allowed without having a large amount of traffic to the site?
This post on Google AdSense blog answers your question very well: http://adsense.blogspot.com/2008/07/sharing-your-ad-space.html
Sounds not a bad idea. Just give it a try see how it works. Digitalpoint give the simular function to share revenue with us. Is it right?
Thanks for the advice and the link to the post. I think I found the answer to my question but while reading the comments someone brought up the question, if a member adds his code to my site and he clicks his own ads and he gets banned for it, will that have a reflection on me and my site? I think I'll do more research before I go further with this idea.
I believe Google only allows one adsense code per page. So make sure you don't add your adsense code on the same page.
- several ids on a page is allowed - use of the adsense sharing api is restricted to high traffic sites, but not adsense sharing done the old way, with old code and switching adsense publisher id - old way, old code is the way to go, letting users input their own adsense code (so allowing them to post javascript on your site) is not a wise idea at all for security reasons - user clicking on its own ad will ban himself, not the site - one user post content violating adsense's tos and this content is not moderated, the site will have ads disabled FOR EVERYONE, end of the site - don't neglect a referral program in addition to revenue sharing, referral program is great to get good reviews about your site and new members for free! - it's true that it is the adsense revenue sharing season, everyone's thinking of doing it
DP stopped sharing revenue last year. However, it shouldn't stop others from thinking about it. Once established as revenue sharing, PM me with your site url, what the percentage share it is and a little of what it is about. See my sig below.
I want to earn through this method. But i don't have my own site or blog. Some one guide me how i can develop my own site and earn through adsense.
I think you should look for site that are already setup, optimized and earning income. If you search for Adense websites here on DP you'll find a bunch of niche sites to choose from.
