Shared Server Online Payment Options

I have an OScommerce ecommerce site. I'm desperatly trying to increase conversion and I've noticed I lose a big chunk of customers during the payments process (50%) when I send them offsite to nochex.

The page in question is fully customised as much as I can but it's still obvious that you have been sent offsite as the URL obviously changes. Im looking at what options I have as I really want to collect the details on my site and not send people off somewhere else.

The thing is I'm on a shared server. I spoke to protx today and they informed me that I would need to have my own server to use there VSP Direct system which would allow the payment to appear to be taken on my own site. I'm just wondering what other options I have where I can capture card details on site with a shared server. There must be a way that the card payments can somehow look like they are at least part of my site and not send the customer off to a new site. Any help on this would be hugely appreciated.

    Where is your business located?

Best bet is to use some sort of API integration method, so that your customers don't leave your site to make a payment. This requires several other steps, such as an SSL certificate.

Are you seeing a 50% drop from cart to confirmation? Or, just on the checkout page?

as already mentioned by jestep, you will simply need a payment gateway which offers you an API for integration, often it is an XML API, but there are others.

You will also need to be PCI compliant at some level to do so, for more information take a look here : https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/ also I believe it won't work for you on a shared server, but have never tried it.

Look into Chronopay or even Wire card or similar all of them have this for instant multi cards are also good, and if you are in the US, CDG Commerce has a good reputation.
