Shared or Dedicated Server?

I'm currently on the baby plan with Hostgator. Basically, their policy is unlimited bandwidth...just don't go over 25% processor usage for more than 90 seconds (otherwise they freeze your account).

I'm launching an online magazine soon (wordpress platform). The majority of the content will be articles. There will also be videos, but they will be embedded, from youtube and such (no live streams).

I'm expecting around 30k uniques the first month, and my goal is to add 20k more each month. Lets say my site is bringing in 100k uniques per month.

Would I need a dedicated for day to day traffic?

What about for spikes, such as a front page Digg? If I'm using a plugin such as super wp-cache, are major spikes likely to get my account frozen?

Look for a host which can throttle you accordingly and grow with you.

Find a better host, Hostgator are well known for pulling sites for nothing.
