Shared Hosting: Excess CPU Usage

Discussion in 'Web Hosting' started by infonote, Jul 11, 2007.

I got a warning regarding excessive CPU usage by my hosting provider.

It seems I have outgrown the shared hosting option. What other alternatives are available as dedicated hosting costs too much. Not worth the $ at the moment.

    Thanks in advance

Maybe find someone who wants to share a dedicated server with you. There are pretty much people who are looking for something better than shared hosting but don't need a dedicated server completely for them self.

You could also look for dynamic dedicated servers. They are cheaper and you know better how much you can use of the CPU.

What kind of site are you running? And how busy is it?

    What's your budget?

Get a VPS, they are only $30-50 a month and should be plenty for what you need.

I have a like problem...I'm looking at MOSSO.com, and asked for input from anyone who has used this company in another thread on this forum. Please, if anyone has used them, we would like to hear about your experience(s), or a someone like them....

VPS is one way to go. Servage might be another ... if you wan't to stick to shared hosting. Dont forget to optimize your scripts! ;)

If nothing else works - you can also PM me, and perhaps we can figure something out. Depends on what you are up to.
