I've heard a whole lot better things about HostGator and their owner actually posts on a few forums (webhostingtalk.com a bit) and I've seen a few posts of his on here as well.

I think that most of the people that you will talk to will tell you to use HostGator for the quality not the price.

Yea, if you're hosting something serious, go for HostGator.

See what other webmasters are saying about HG at HostGator Reviews.

The baby plan is a good choice to start with.

Avoid Godaddy like the plauge! Great for domain registrations, horrible for hosting. YOu will get better support from monkeys. Seriously. Just head over to webhostingtalk.com and do a simple search on godaddy hosting.

I would add some props to Hostgator. Have been using them (Baby plan) since last 4-6 months without any problems. Excellent service and support.

They had all my database (actually all databases on particular server) gone once, but only for few mins - their engineers recovered everything.

Their speed and uptime is best among all the hosting providers I have used to so far (way too better than dreamhost - which sucks big time)

Hi ... read the the reviews of HostGator closely. My sense is the company tries hard, but a lot users report a lot of problems.

Godaddy sells hopes and wishes, but hardly delivers. Support,at godaddy, ranges from poor to almost adequate.

midphase.com is in the same price range as HostGator and godaddy, with top quality equipment plus A++++++++ service and support.

Anhosting, a midPhase company, is a tad less expensive than the mother ship.

midPhase offers unmetered bandwith and doesn't oversell resources.

    Hope this helps.

    Good luck.

One of the biggest problems with Godaddy is overselling. The Delux plan as you are looking at it comes with 100 GB of disk space and 1000 GB (1 TB) of data transfer. Those servers are WAY over sold and issues will arrise.

Spend the same amount of money at hostgator for less space. You will never use it all anyways. Nor will you use the bandwidth. To use it all you will need to be file sharing or running streaming content (Which isnt allowed at eithe HG or Godaddy). If you even get close to using all those resources you will be bumped from the server and forced to upgrade.

I own a forum with over 5,000 members using vBulletin and am currently only using 370 MB of disk space, and around 5 GB of data transfer a month.

They both suck. I've been h4x0r3d on HostGator's insecure servers...no fault of my script or my own.

GoDaddy I have heard bad things about compatibility..

Go with cheap shared hosting from Aplus.net - better plans, better uptime, way better support, and a great datacenter.

I used Godaddy for a month and I was like in a hell and now I have my own dedicated server but I still have one account at HostGator, they are simply fast and superb perfomance of their share hositng plans. I am on the Baby plan too.
