If there is a ebook I have rights to and want to give away in the Freebies section can I provide a Sharecash link to download for it?

That would be considered an affiliate link, hence not allowed.

Just to confirm what I can't do
Host ebook on sharecash and post link here
Host ebook on megaupload/rapidshare and, password protect it, leave password hosted on sharecash

    What I should do:
Just host on a normal free file host

    ?

Either that or host it on your own server. If you're being compensated in any way from the download other than through selling your own product (which you're not in this case), it would probably fall under the affiliate link rule and not be allowed. You could post an affiliate-style link in your signature though -- you just can't actively promote that link in any way such as mentioning your sig link in a post.

No. You just can't provide a link where you're being compensated in any way for clicks, visits, downloads, etc. You can provide a hotlink if it's on your own server or something. If you have a description page on your site, you can link to that if you prefer. But you can't link to a page on your site only to link to an affiliate link (linking to a landing page like that just to get around affiliate link rules still counts as active affiliate link promotion).
