    Hi Guys,

i use shareasale.com and already for 2 weeks i am getting $0 in my activity details stats page.

It looks like sale was conducted, but sale amount shows $0.

I contacted shareasale, but they asked to contact a merchant. I did. No response for 2 weeks. I contacted shareasale. No response for 4 days.

Just wondering if someone else has/had such experience?

Share a sale has been nothing but EXCELLENT for me. Was it for a large price (> $50)? Maybe it has to be manually approved? Just speculating, Im not really sure.

I have had 3 or 4 of these in the last week. The wierd thing is they all come from the same link.
I will be contacting the merchant today and will let you know what is happening.Normally if the sale doesn't go through it says cancelled.

I had a reply from my merchant as follows :

"I can explain this. I believe our IT department must have been testing
our ID tracking system and used your affiliate site to test it. They
then must have run $0 dollar test orders without clearing the cache and
    removing your tracking cookie.

Our apologies for the confusion. I will make sure that they remove them
immediately to prevent this from occurring again."

    Seems to be the answer.

I;ve had that happen before in programs I have managed. The tech team places test orders to check that things are working right (a GOOD thing) but don't realize they previously had checked some affiliate sites and have someone's cookie. If they have longs cookies they could have clicked an affiliate link long ago and didn't even think about it.

While frustrating, I am glad they are double checking links to make sure everything is working. Nothing but the best from SAS.

I suspect shareasale for not being able to track all aff sales
I use simillar programs with both cj and sharesale...I always have 0 sales on shareasale while 10+/day on cj

Odd. Ive only used shareasale.com, but have never had a problem. Also, the click rates and buy rates are always what I predicted.

I have used CJ, LinkShare and ShareASale and out of them I have found ShareASale to be the best and also I earn the most from them. CJ ended up closing my account for inactivity and Linkshare I get some good sales, but you have to pay to have access to the datafeed, plus they seem to sometimes send me a few checks a month instead of one big one per month, which is annoying to say the least.

Nice to hear you have tried the others and still liked SAS. Added rep for your quality review and comparison.

    Thanks!

I have also just recently signed up to Performics and so far I don't like the way they deal with getting datafeeds.

ShareASale has the best datafeed system I have seen so far for a US network, that's if you want to signup to a network and get datafeeds straight away without having to pay a fee.

Alot of ClixGalore's datafeeds data is messed up. I did tell them about this, but they can't be bothered to listen to their affiliates plus they didn't both to email me back a simple answer to a simple question when I actually needed to know how their datafeeds rows were returned. Were they using /r/n or /n, something like that anyway as my scripts couldn't figure out where each products in the datafeed started and ended. I still have not really figured it out and have not used their datafeeds since. I have produced many sales for merchants from using datafeeds and told ClixGalore this and just needed help on that simple question and they didn't reply so it seems that they prefer to just get merchants and that is it.

My average sale is $300-$500, and $0s appear from the same url (My CTR is ~90%).

To test their application they don't have to use anyone account, it could be done inside the IT. If the do test it's good to email a notice to their affiliate.

But it continues for 3 weeks already.

As long as i did not hear from my merchant for 2 weeks and it's already 3 weeks since first $0 i assume that they play games (the most interesting thing is that not all transactions show $0, just some of them).

I accounted more then 30 transactions with $0
I hope this issue is not related to my high CTR or amount i sell.

So here is my conclusion: if SAS (or any other affiliates programs) doesn't track sales why merchants/affiliates use them?

Merchants without them could give you 30%-50% instead of 10%.

And i though that main purpose of such companies to bring trust to people that merchant doesn't cheat. Now i can see it differently...

For your 2nd part, SAS only takes out 20%. So if its only 10%, then the merchant could pay 30%. HOWEVER, then the merchant would have to spend money promoting their program, someone to pay affiliates, someone to approve affiliates, etc.

it's good to work with a few affiliates networks...
Some merchants also work with a few affiliates networks...and..
it was funny , but i was easy approved by some merchants at CJ while the same merchants at SAS refused me:( So keep this in mind;)

And i agree that data feed is good at SAS, but their search engine is the worst possible...

I dont think they promote their merchants or programs...
Usually merchant places links to the affiliate network website. So I think their expenses on this part minimal... i mean really minimal...
I think more merchants still run their own program without middle man...

the matter is only - trust;)

I agree with you there. I have also be declined with the same merchants from some networks and then approved in others.

Another thing that I have noticed is because the networks charge different rates to their merchants, the merchants sometimes pays different commissions in different networks. So in some you could be on 5% per sale and in another you could be on 4% per sale for the same merchant.

It doesn't happen often, but I have noticed it with a few merchants.
