    How do you guys feel about meta tags? Are they important? Do they play an important role is SEO? Which meta tags you feel a site should must have? Plz share your views.

    Meta Tags are the important aspects of the OnPage Optimization.
    Meta Title, Meta Description, H1, H2 & H3 tags are important.

    Though search engine don’t count meta tag to give the value of a page, but for better indexing there should be use meta tags. For SEO purpose I always use below 6 meta tags for my sites.

    Description tag
    Keywords tag
    Copyright tag
    Content Type tag
    Robots tag
    Google-specific meta tags

    Only Title tag (though this is not a real meta tag) or Robots tag has a significant value in Google.

    Thanks guys for sharing your opinions. Do you think meta tags meant for only search engines or they are useful for visitors too I.e description and title tag?
