I'll be launching another new site in a week or two on press releases. I'd like to include samples of successful press releases to serve as models, and I'd prefer not to have it revolve simply around my own releases. What Makes a Successful Press Release? For this site, only samples that led to legitimate media coverage (meaning they inspired unique stories and weren't simply posted as-is) will be considered. The number of samples published will be limited, so those getting picked up in larger media outlets (national newspapers, television / radio features, or major online media) will be given preference. This site is not going to feature releases just because they led to a traffic increase, got listed in Yahoo! news, or were published on some small niche blogs. Details 1. If you'd like your press release included, and it meets the sample requirements, all of your links will remain in tact (if you didn't have live links used, you can add up to 5). 2. This is not a press release distribution site. It's not for new releases that you're hoping to get exposure for. It's for releases that were previously published / distributed, and which led to significant coverage. 3. If you have a success story to share, but you prefer not to have your press release itself published on the site, you can send me your success story, and I may publish that separately - as a sort of testament to the potential of quality press releases. In this case, I'll let you include one link to your site in your "story." Think of them as testimonials. While you're free to give as much detail as you want, you're also welcome to submit a very brief quote on your experience with press releases. 4. I'm opening it up to a webmaster audience first. If there aren't enough high quality submissions with real coverage, I'll be contacting other PRs I know to pull in some of their more successful releases. About the Site 1. The site will be located at FreePressReleaseWriting.com (not launched yet). 2. It will essentially be a free guide on press release writing with samples, templates, tips, and more. 3. I may also include a select list of press release writers or PR firms where visitors can find qualified professionals to help them with press release writing if they prefer not to do it themselves. If you have other suggestions for the site, or things you may want to know about press releases, please let me know. Jenn
