I am #10 for "stock market" in MSN... Guess how much traffic from MSN for that phrase? You guessed it - zero, nil, nada, nich. Thanks Mr. Gates!!

It seems that MSN acts a lot quicker to get your search terms to the top of their lists while Google and Yahoo don't even register. It's great to get to the top - to see there is absoultely no traffic makes me wonder if anyone uses MSN as a search engine!

If you are aiming at the younger market, then MSN is definitely good to go.

I got a pretty good ranking on an alright keyword in MSN.

But in my opinion MSN is a lot easier to rank in than the others, although I have noticed the ASK crawler in my logs a lot more lately and also my visitors from their search have been up on a few sites.

I am hoping MSN stays high up in the search game so that when they do start getting many more users that I am already holding good positions for keywords.

Some other accomplishments would include a back link I got one of my clients from the FEMA website. I am always trying for those edu, gov and org links and it's always nice when you get one to link to you naturally.

I haven't had a site of mine or a clients site loose PR in the past three Google PageRank updates/exports. They have all either stayed the same or moved up.

That's it for me! Good job to all of you who have achieved (or begun to achieve) your search engine optimization goals and milestones, keep it up!

I think my best is probably ranking #1 in Yahoo for Web Design - 1.6 billion results (sometimes I bounce to #2, which is still pretty good)

I have some Google and MSN successes too, but that Yahoo one is pretty new and it is a pretty big term

I have many I am proud of, but here are a couple of big ones.
#1 in 35 million for a 2 word sports term
#1 & 2 for SEO in my province out of 2.5 million (2.5 Mil is not high, but the competition is tough)

I am also proud of the fact I have no formal training, and have learned everything myself from what I have learned from reading threads by kind people such as yourselves.

One thing I am amazed at is the difference in traffic from a site thats in #1 as opposed to a site in lets say #3.
It seems being #1 has a strong psychological affect.
Even though both sites are in your face, #1 position seems to get at least 20% more traffic (guesstimate)

I love this field, when I have a #1 against more than 10 million sites, I feel like I just hit a home run in the world series

    Its so competitive, and exciting.

You know you are having a good day when you are #1, 3, 4, 7 and 9 on a 500k results. But a bad day is when you try an show someone this, and Google has readjusted.

Always "screen copy" it, it does not last.

But remember, if you are in the top 10, you have done great.

The best one probably was ranking #1 out of 8,720,000 results. But, right now google is being quite mean and has deindexed my site for my major keywords.
