Greetings Last night i had the worst night of my life. I had this so called "sleep paralyzis" thing happen to me, and i honestly wish that no one else will go through it ever. First i didn't know what it was, but when i googled a bit i found the explanation and realized i was not going crazy. At the evening i went to bed just like any other night turned off the lights after reading some and then slept. When i woke up later at night i was feeling scared i felt this horrible pressure on my chest, i could not move and it was hard to breath. I started to feel like i was in horrible danger and felt a presence in the room, i could not see it but i was sure someone was there looking at me. I was 100% sure i was awake i truly felt like i was awake and can remember everything that happend during the night. Suddently i felt someone touching me, trying to drag me out of my bed. I was horrified, absolutely horrified. Then the room turned red and i saw black shadows on the walls of the room, they were looking like men with very long limbs and body. Deformed in a horrible way. It was horrible, then it all vanished. I didn't wake up, everything just vanished then i tought is it over? I walked to the kitchen turned all lights on, tv on, computer on and i was very scared. Then morning came and everything was ok, but the strange part was that i never woke up, i was awake when this shit happend. I called my shrink and told her about my experience and i told her that i tought it was sleep paralyzis and got a time for tomorrow. I hope that no one ever has that experince, it scared the shit out of me and to be honest i'm afraid to go to sleep now. I normally never see bad dreams, but this was very strange experience. Now has anyone ever had a smiliar experience, or anyone else feel like sharing your nightmares? Sir. Turhapuro
I suffer from sleep paralysis as well, (quite possibly why I'm an insomniac now, hah.) It's definitely not a fun experience, and like you I had no idea what it was called until I googled it after it had happened a few times.
Nice to know i'm not alone. Also sad to know that others suffer from it. Anyone know is there any treatment available if this continues?
I haven't done research on the condition for quite some time, but last I recall there's really no "cure" or anything like that for sleep paralysis. Several websites offer tips to help lessen the likelihood of an "attack," but for the most part it's something people just have to live with.
yes, i had sleep paralysis, and i did wake up! well, it is said that every one in 20 people have suffered this, some time or the other, in there life time!! i had this a few times. the first time was horrible, but then i remember i could not open my eyes, and it seems to me that i was kind of watching the room, with my eyes closed. can't say excatly what it was like, i felt half awake!! then next time, i don't remember! can't recall anything. but the third time, i knew what was to be done! i know it is next to impossbile to break the dream, a consious dream!! my father slept next to me, and i tried my best, and somehow pushed him. he in turn awake me, as i have asked him to just make me awake if i push him in the night!! and from then, i did not had this dream again. that night, i could not open my eyes, but then i somehow moved my hands! and that helped. this kind of dream is very strange. as you can control your dream, and influence your dream somehow. i was walking somewhere in the dream, and i could think where to go, and where i am? etc. it was a controlled dream! but then as the conciousness grew, i knew that it was a dream, and i wanted to break it, but i can't. i simply can't open my eyes!! cheers!
I think you're a little confused, however. Sleep paralysis isn't a dream. You are awake throughout the experience, which is what makes the condition so frightening.
yes, that is absolutely right! but then being awake and being concious is not excatly the same thing. and then remembering it after words is another thing. it is not all that easy to explain, i was partially awake. here it is everything in a nutshell!! i was dreaming, then i got to remember it was a dream, somehow i got the conciousness. then the dream finished. i wanted to open my eyes, i know i was awake. but i could not move! i even tried to open my eyes, but i can't. i somehow moved my hand and pushed my dad. and he helped me get awake. this was about a few years back, and from then on, i did not had this exprience again! i don't know what it is called. though it is like sleep paralysis!!
My worst nightmare was the other night. I dreamt I was doing the usual stuff on DP...making posts....then I see the most scariest thread on DP.... Nintendo Buys DP Forums....Shawn Sells for $2 million I woke up screaming!!! Col
ROFLMAO!! Is he really that rich Pretty scary dream! I cannot come up with a dream I have had, so let me think and I will tell you, hell I cant even remember last night
My girlfriend went through sleep paralysis once around three months ago. She called me at like 4 in the morning just bawling. She was so freaked out, she wouldnt sleep unless I was there. It only happened that one time. As for my worst nightmare... ill have to think about that one.
I never hear of sleep paralysis. I've had those dreams that you where paralyze and couldn't moved. Which they where horrify! I totally believe that your having a outofbodyexperience while in that stage.
Dude most of your posts are .... nevermind .... Nintendo, as idiotic as he behaves, is one of the highest earners in DP. His knowledge is something that not everyone around can come up to! Abhishek
wow that sounds pretty freaky, hope it never happens to me, the worst nightmare's that happen to me, not really that, bad, but i hate it when u feel like you are falling, scares the shit out of me, and makes me jump and i generally wake, barely happens any more
