Thought it would be a good idea if everybody posted their methods for building traffic and backlinks to their blogs
Im using twitter for the last coupl eof months, working well of the traffic side. The site for sale in my sig has been 'Twitterized', have a look at the stats. DD
Twitter (auto posted to twitter through twitterfeed.com) Myspace - You can add loads of friends using Myspace Friend Blaster Submit sitemaps to Google Webmaster Tools Add Links in Forum Signatures (if allowed)
Submissions to various blog directories as well as other web directories,using social bookmarkings,commenting on other related blogs,buying signatures and avatars at forums etc. are best for blog traffic IMO. I am doing same thing for my blogs btw. DON.
Directory links in a less competitive niche, blog commenting naturally done, shouldn't be looking for dofollow blogs, content that people naturally link back to and content that makes people want to comment on your blog with more than "great post" i personally touch nothing of the fad variety for traffic. Write your own content properly, pay someone to do that or forget all about running a blog.
SEO is very well known issue. My experiences are like this, 1. Your experiences are the most awaited in the Internet. You have loads of unique content in your mind, just bring them out and follow SEO. I give this 5 stars personally. 2. Search engine traffic is the most powerful than rest. So make your page titles search engine friendly. 3. Time on site is the most important issue. So focus on that. Two visitors for a minute is not as good as one visitor viewing for 5 minutes.
