As a marketing technique for something else, I'm working on a game that gives people fortunes. The idea was to make the thing likeable on Facebook of course, so that it could spread virally. I just realized though, that it will spread alot better if people get the option to share their fortune on Facebook. The basic function of the page is to use random number generators to choose and display 3 images as the person's fortune. But sharing that fortune as-is on Facebook would be tricky, if it's even doable. I'm thinking that maybe the page could dynamically create the "Like" link based on the pictures chosen. But I'm not really sure where to go from there. Anyone have any thoughts about this?
If anyone's interested, I realized my purpose could be better served by making my game a Facebook app like that farm one that somebody is always playing. The advantage is that it could show up in a person's news feed every time they played. Being a control freak, I'd hate to have my creation encased inside Facebook's color scheme, but that sacrifice might have to be made.
The Like button lets a user share your content with friends on Facebook. When the user clicks the Like button on your site, a story appears in the user's friends' News Feed with a link back to your website.
