When I was surfing around web I found this Article at a blog, that Microsoft is using the brand name of Chrome to promote IE ads...Can you believe this..I thought Microsoft has some ethics but to prove it self on top.. today it has done the worst mistake ever... Already there is verdict of stealing search results and now again this new... see this.. http://solvater.com/2011/03/microsoft-bluffing-with-ie9-ad-using-chrome-adtext/
IE sucks and anyone with technical knowledge knows not to use it. So they have to do something to try to boost their image.
Shame on microsoft. They should running a honest marketing instead of wishing people to "missed" click
i think you people have misunderstand that i have see that ad , it is not by official site of Microsoft or any site relevant to microsoft, it is a third party ad who is taking disadvantage with Google awords , the site is www.ie9enhanced.com , and no proof of site to have any connection with Microsoft . so in my thought microsoft is clear. you can also see it on image. i think we all should have to clear our thoughts before spreading such rumors.
Good for you jimmytazz! That's the downside of forums - people just running off with their mouths (fingers, given they're typing) without checking out the facts...
I'm sorry dude you are wrong this time.. The site ie9enhanced.com is related to microsoft. Its hosted on msft.net. You can check the Whois info of ie9enhanced.com. You will see its hosted on microsoft server and its contact email is also a microsoft official email. http://whois.domaintools.com/ie9enhanced.com
I know longer trust microsoft i'am gonna buy a mac more reliable and besides i wanna be to actually use my computer no thanks
It's pretty ironic that you where quick to slate people and yet you done the exact thing that you criticized. In other words, it is owned my MicroSoft.
Its nothing new, Ive seen Apple do it on my site. Its a 'Windows; ad but when you click on it it takes to you to an Apple landing page. I had posted about this on Neowin some time back
this google ads so anyone can do it for whatever reason so MS will look bad. i don't like microsoft either. infact i'm a linux user.. take it through my username its /etc directory of linux file system.
Actually, it's against AdWords' TOS to use a trademarked name in ads unless its your own. http://adwords.google.com/support/aw/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=6118
I guess these kind of things keep on happening. Fight among giants to capture market share . If MS has really done that its totally unaceptable
Hi to All it is confirmed that the website is Microsoft's own site, for exclusive promotion of IE9 they have launched it. But using this kind of shit is really unacceptable and unethical. Shame on to Microsoft..
shame on microsoft................it is amongst the most succesful companies of the world and they are doing like this !!! ?? LOL
I dont think so that the company like Microsoft, which is having a good reputation & also a big market share will do such a cheap thing. As the screenies show it is a third party website who is using both the top names of computer industry to boost up his business. Regards Market Research
All I did was to state the downside of forums - jimmytazz was stating something - I neither agreed nor disagreed what he was saying - only that people do run off with their fingers...
