Bing no, never. It always ask for money. It has dominated IT industry for long. Google provides good user friendly interface, think out of box and cost reasonable.

I agree that the more competition the better.

    So does Google

It Already Has 80% of the Search Engine Power..They have a browser and now up coming OS(Chrome OS)

what would that lead too ??

dont blindly bash Microsoft , they gave back what they earned in billions to poor/orphans and for research, to find a cure for cancer/AIDS etc.

    neither did Apple or Google.

i think you are getting paid to promote hate on Microsoft.. your post history says so much.

I think that's a very good point. Google's aolgorithm doesn't give a damn to starter sites, even it's really good. Without backlinks it's doomed with slim traffic. However for those who gets a good grip of how link building works, not-so-good works can get to the #1 result.

But the difference is us. We can make the difference. The richer gets richer not because they should be but they are already richer. Google may still grow and very probably will, but that may not be because they are good, but because they are already a giant who can utilize many privileges at hand to help itself grow rather than being good any more. But Microsoft has just begun, it's showing good intent in being a good search engine and we should help him to balance the market against Google.

Actually, if you have read my post carefully, I'm talking about us webmasters and businesses / companies who rely heavily on online sales to survive, not the general public. Don't you think that'd be a much better situation for us when there's 2 equally rivaling search engines? That way not one of them has the power to break or make us any more. I'm not saying Google's being bad to us right now, but competition is almost always better than none.

Good points, Satz! But let's be fair that Google does give out on free advertising for charities when they can't decide what ads to serve, though much much less than Microsoft does.

Bing is IMNHO, a lesser search engine- when I put in a search query of something on my own site (title of a weekly column) it is page 1 of google, but not even in the 5 pages of bing (out of 5 pages- it not a common title)

considering the column gets several hundred hits a week, that says something.

as far as competiton, I don;t see how a few thousand people are going to move the market one way or another.
