Shall we let our site aging?

Anyone here letting the site aging first before start to post up contents? For example, let abc.com setup for a while before start to post up the contents? Any idea why this is done? Please advise. Thanks

It's true that a site's ranking improves as it ages (like wine, I guess :) ) but I would suggest you put in some content, like maybe around 5 articles/posts, on your website and then add more over time. Also, don't just let it sit there. Make sure you work on the on-page and off-page SEO for your site.

it is true, google likes older sites, and ones that develop content naturally (not all in one big download then nothing).

Sites can rise in rank rapidly for the first couple of months then seem to stall (google effect or high competition keeping them out). But it may be up to a year before the age of the site starts benefiting you again.

its true though, your site has to have some valid content for google to see, otherwise just putting it up with junk info will have google downgrade the quality of the site and it may keep this first impression against you for some time.

Though your site is fresh it doesn't that it is not yet ready for optimization,no, you can start optimize and post content on it but make it moderately.

I tend to put up a site and add a small amount of content right away. Then over the next 12 months, I'll add a couple new articles / pages to keep the site growing. But since it takes time for SE positions to improve, I usually wait about 6-12 months before I do any major work.

Obviously, you need to build links and work on off-site SEO to build up your rankings. I start link building as soon as the site is "live" with some content...

In my opinion there is nothing wrong if we start promoting the site though it is fresh but just a minimal effort to avoid hurting the site.

Google keeps new sites in the sandbox and they do not appear in the search results for few months. When the site is in sand box that it means Google is watching your site very closely if you do some black hat or unethical thing then Google will penalize you and will not crawl on your site. It also checks how regularly your site is updating. So it is very important to update the new site to make good reputation in search engines and you should optimize the site very carefully.

The site's age has some bearing on the its ranking. How big? I'm still not sure about that and would welcome more inputs from more experienced marketers. Based on my experience not all sites behave in the search results the same. I have sites that reached page 1 in only a couple of weeks and some that steadily rises while others never seem to take off. I think it depends on many factors the most important I feel is the keyword compettion.

For the content, you must have some content when you first make your site live. The content should be related to your site's topic. This will help the search engines determine how to classify your site.

On how often we need to change or put content? It depends, you'll find plenty of posts, articles, etc of people saying that after the inital site building phase they still get regular traffic AND revenue without touching their sites for months. This is possible. I have a site which I haven't touched for half a year and still get some traffic. But I'm sure if I add more content and more promotion, it'll do better.

One more thing, I believe that any content we put in our sites should be as unique as possible. One thing I always do is check with copyscape for my article's unqiueness before I put on my site.
