Some links you are referring to are from Blogcritics I anticipated in for some time. I'm not sure why Google is choosing this one to be so excessive represented in the link list. It could only be 40 or so at max from there. I think most of the links are rather diversely concerning IP ranches. Mostly because they are natural links form people liking and linking to the articles on the website. Is there any way of checking this? Thanks Caryl for having a look at it, I'm getting kind of confused by this Hans
Believe me Hans when I tell you... We are all confused by this! Google is evolving we have seen many small (and sometimes not so small) but subtle changes over the last 8 mos. as we have monitored Google and recorded data on a daily basis. Several months ago, your 2980 links would have made you King. As it seemed a link was a link - no matter where it came from. At that point so called "Link Farms" sprouted up all over the place. People started directories with 1000s of pages and were quickly able to have thousands of links and get to the top of the serps... I could go on and on, but that is just a snipet of the recent events that occurred in the "2004 version of Google vs the Optimizers". The current mantra for search engine optimization should be to get a lot of links from a lot of DIFFERENT websites! Our research has shown that... > - Themed or un-themed dosn't seem to matter. > - Anchor text IS important and limit it to the keyword(s) you wish to target. Caryl
I have to agree with both of these statements. We are seeing more and more reliability when using many different class c addresses lately, and that theming does not matter in the slightest, and as we all know, anchor text has been one of the most important things for quite some time.
well my site is toast Gone from #1 for around 100 terms to #20 to 40 I had many links inbound from the coop - but it shouldn't matter otherwise I could simply point these to my competitors and kill them so it must be something to do with what's on my site I have gone thru it - and it seems OK G has been recently but latest cache date is 22/12 (december) - but it doesnt show a cache date in serps What I have done in the last couple of days is: 1: ensure htaccess points domain.com to www.domain.com 2: delete all my affiliate links 3: delete my outbound coop links 4: delete all my site wide links to external site 5: change my homepage which had been hijacked by another website.... I am clean now - but have not been refreshed yet Anyone else changed anything to improve things ?
I keep close tabs on everything that goes on my domain. I have no funky links and I have been adding fresh content. As of three weeks ago my site went from in the top four for all my keywords to the position of 100. This is bazaar.
leeds1, You have dramatically over reacted. I don't think any of the things you have done are justified. I think anyone should just sit tight for a while and Google will probably come right back to the position it had before.
Yep, quite considerably in the last few days. Both BLs and PR dropped though and number of pages indexed remains unchanged it seems.
And why aren't I surprised that the term ex-wives is plural There is a difference between and "mover and a shaker" and just a "mover". I'll bet none of your ex-wives were ever as nice to you as I am
That's just a figure of speech. I only actually married one of them. Although I did have children with a few others You're probably nicer than one or two of them but really they were all a lot better looking
No way all of them were better looking Minstrel Compar said you were better looking than one of his old flames, now you can return the favor Minstrel, I love both of you, now see, we can get sweet and sensitive on forum Let the feelings flow, it is good for the soul guys
OK, but do you love Compar and I, that is the burning question viewers want to know, plus it is on topic, your answer will "Shakin Em Up" PS: we have a car dealer down here that calls himself "Sweet Old Bob", funny everytime I think of Compar I think of that.
"Love" isn't a term I use in talking about another male generally, except for my brothers and my children. And I think we are off-topic, actually.
