Hi everyone, have installed the latest version of sh404SEF for my VM1.1.3 / Joomla 1.5.15 (php 5.29 on server) online shop and running in a problem nobody has a clue how to fix this bug. In SEF url mode the user can click through the pages from 1 to xx and go back to each previous page except of going back to page 1. For page 1 the url says categoryname/view-all-products.html and for page 2 etc. it is categoryname/view-all-products.html/page2-10 in examble. The urls are generated really SEF but it sure is a big problem if the user gets stuck and can't go back to page 1. This really sucks because it can cause lost sales and losing costumers. Dev Anything Digital could not provide any really good working solution yet. They say it is a problem of different server settings or the different php versions. Obviously there were a few temporary fixes that worked for a few people but it did not work for me and several other ones. Is anybody else having in this problem and maybe can provide a solution and could help me? You can check it yourself in our shop (link in my signature). Yes, have checked them out and do on a regular basis to check if maybe a patch is available. But so far no news, at least not by last night.
Thanks for your offer but I already paid for the tool and can not afford to pay a lot to get something fixed the developer should fix actually. To see the problem you just need to go to our shop (link in my signature) and e.g. choose first category and surf through page 1 to the last page and then try to get back to page 1....impossible! you will be stuck on page 2.
Sorry but I have no solution yet either. As per forum of Dev Anything Digital they are working on a new version that is supposed to have the bug fixes and they are running all kinds of tests right now. If it's true??? No idea. Maybe they are just waiting on the final release of Joomla 1.6 and they hope for all the bugs to disappear on their own. I just know one thing for sure, I will be very cautious in future about buying any extensions, plugins or modules if there is no way to try them first for a certain period of time before I pay for anything. This was a good lesson to me. So far this tool is causing me more losses than it helped me because customers in my store can not return to review again page 1 of category once they went further to page 2 or 3. There are a few other problems with that tool, that I don't even wanna mention here but they caused me several hours to fix something it caused on my site. Just one good advice.... DO NOT ADD ANY META TAGS MANUALLY! If you do so you better do not add any new categories or delete any categories or everything will be screwed up. For more info about it PM me.
