nice one SE actually i think your site looks better already....just make those bl**dy yellow links a different colour
you can put your banner and navigation onto a seperate page.....and then each new page you make can have the navigation page "included"....so it always appears in the same place on every page... make sense ?? or you can make a "Shared border" on the left with your navigation in it... a shared border on the top with your banner in it.......these shared borders will be on every page... shamefully i only know how to do this in frontpage and have no idea what you are using to create your pages
the yellow link are to be deleted once the site works as it should. they are not part of the site, they only came because the SE's could not read the url's in the java menu on the old site
i know that...you said it 10 times already ..just change the colour in the mean time...until you delete the things !!!!!!!!!! {hittingscreen ~ hurting hand}
i want the page at the top on every page, but it will only allow a max of 10 left hand menu buttons, for my site i need at least 80, so i cant have 80 buttons on the left, and wanted .......... i dont know what i want anymore, this is getting to me now, i am just not smart enough to do it sorry sammie
Guys, you have to realize that she is using a do-it-yourself website building program from I-POW, so she can only do what the interface allows her. What she needs is a professional designer to help her and a new hosting program. Those do-it yourself web builders all seem to have great limitations as you all know. So keep this in mind when you are advising her.
Create a new page on the site names "site-map.html" Take all of the yellow links that are currently being displayed on the site, then put them in the "Site map page". Then, remove the yellow links from the rest of the site. Itn their place, put a link to the site map page saying "Site Map". Simple as that
the host provides everything. just the templates are not enough, i can use anything i want on the host,
Don't give up, girl, you'll crack it. I've been doing this stuff for over 6 years (you wouldn't think it would you LOL) and I've got a CSS prob right now that's doin' my f'in nut in. I will sort it out somehow, it will NOT defeat me... I've had 4 and half hours sleep in the last 48 hours so I know where you're comin' from Like SE says, do a sitemap. Then make your folder structure follow the navigation, so have a /femalesexuality folder and move page4.html into there and rename it index or default. Then put the femalesexuality folders into there so you get paths like /femalesexuality/hergspot/ and then have an index page there. Already you've got a /level1/level2/ structure so make sure all your paths are good and remember ../ takes you down 1 level ../../ takes you down 2 and so on or use /foldername to start from the root. Then make sure you have a template page that works in each level and use it at that level. If you're using dreamweaver it changes the mapping of the paths when you move folders/rename files so let it do some of the hard work for you It's Friday - you gotta get some sleep or you'll be no good for Friday night out on the tiles <edit>PS does anyone else see Lord of the Rings in adsense on this page </edit>
Did I tell you guys that she is using a do-it-yourself website builder from IPOW her host, do you want me to tell you 5 more times?
erm...its 2pm you said you want 80 buttons...thats a huge amount of swap over images for one page.. why not go for the 10 main buttons and below just have 70 standard text links ?~~just typing out loud here~~ <<yep..Lord of the Rings...weird>>
If you redesigned your menu to use changing background images with text overlays it would load faster and be a lot more search engine friendly.
i am bigining to feel like a blonde bimbo, i understand the simple commands, but this is the package i have http://www.ipowerweb.com/products/webhosting/index.html if that helps sammie
Cut it out Sam, you are not a bimbo, you are a sex educator I still say that you find a web designer and give them 10% ownership in the site for their services. Let the designer do the page design and you provide the content and customer service.
