A registered sex offender in Alaska bought a ticket in a lottory that was created to rasie money to funds services for sexual assault victims, and to his and well most peoples surprise, he won the $500,000 prize. http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/01/13/sex.offender.lottery/index.html Is that an absolute coincidence or what?
Is it telling us that crime pays? Well at least he is donating something to charity......Very ironical. But I guess the lottery have no choice but to pay him.
Luck is a fickle and unpredictable mistress. She often chooses men who are unworthy and scorns the deserving.
"Alaska has the highest per capita number of rape cases in the United States, according to FBI statistics." So it's not really too big of a coincidence. I'm in favor of the death penalty for repeat offenders.
Hopefully the guy is 100% rahabilitated and does not get excited over the little ones anymore, and if so... then I guess good for him... if not... he should be forced to donate it all back to the charity.
I'm from Alaska. We have the highest per capita murder, domestic violence, DUI, and most other extreme or violent crimes. Its because we have small towns with no roads in or out so people get in bad situations they can't get away from plus our entire state's population is less than most large cities, which makes even a few instances a big thing.
unfortunate turn of events. But if he was legally allowed to enter the lottery he is entitled as much as anyone else to win the money and keep it.
