Still searching... Not working with IE, Safari, FF, on a Mac or a PC... I get a different error depending on what program I use... Is this your site?
Nope, not my site, found the link on Reddit and as I said, I just used it moments ago to verify it's working for me in IE and XP.
Little bit of an update.. After constantly reloading I finally got it to work.. It returned a completely inaccurate result.. Not even the right state, much less city.. Seems the "THIS SITE IS CURRENTLY IN BETA" warning is correct... Thanks for the link.. Would be cool if it worked
Sorry it's not working for you.. it pinpointed within the proper area for me. Don't know what to say.. has anyone else had problems like this?
I see the problem now.. The forms do not work if you enter your full address.. Simply placing my zip code only seems to have solved some of the issues. Another thing I notice is that it places a sex offender next door to me, when he lives across the street... I'm not sure how accurate Google Maps is (well, I konw it is way off a lot of the time), so this type of site could inaccurately place people in homes they are not in.... It is neat, I will admit that.. Kinda cool to get a sat image and overview of where people are located... I just happened to have one that live across the street from me, so I found it interesting to try and give this a try and see if it place them there or not. It's off. Wrong side of the street, wrong house... Close though...
I was able to use it giving my complete address and found a few they located on the map that actually belong in a nearby town BUT the addresses they gave were supposedly correct so aside from the general position on the map, we can assume it was correct. Hopefully they'll refine it in the future. To be honest, I don't 100% agree with posting this sort of thing online because these are people who've paid their debt to society and I think they should be able to go on with their lives and hopefully not repeat offend. I can see where people with kids might like to know but hopefully these maps won't be used to discriminate against people who may be making an effort to stay on the straight and narrow.
To be honest, not all of them have paid their debt.. Some are still under supervision.. Now I mentioned I live DIRECTLY across the street from one. He's been a fantastic neighbor, a great friend, and up front and honest about what went down so many years ago. On that note, I will agree, that some of these people are really getting drug through the ringer over and over again... However, it is important as someone who has a kid, to realize why these people are listed... Some are legit dirt bags, I am sure.. Some are not.. I remember when I was 18, I had a 17 year old girlfriend and was going to be charged with statutory rape because her shoes were off in my car... Anyway, thank you for the link!!!
This map is stupid as it could lead people in the neighborhood suspecting each other without reason. It could also lead to false safeness feeling. We all know that abusers live everywhere in the society and this map is not helping for anything. Its just plain useless. And where does the data come from and is it updated?
It is not the fault of the site or map... This is publicly and readily available information that is provided by the States. You could just as easily find this info by googling for the database in your particular state...

thats funny. Whats not funny is that none of these people get a new chance in life when putting them online like this. I believe that they have served in jail, that is the punishment made by the society, this web site is an extra punishment. I dont know if its worth to destroy someones chances to live a good new life of the cost to publish the suckers that will be assholes forever.
I've got 3 within 3-4 miles, but none directly in my neighborhood. Luckily, none of them just terribly bad. You can get put on this list for "mooning" someone.
I disagree. Most people will never check this list, and more than likely those that I found in my town I will never recognize if I saw them walking down the street. I think they need to be put on some type of list and people should keep their eye on them. Most sexual offenders are repeat offenders.
Oh and it apears all the sex ofenders live in the poor areas of our county, I guess there must be a corelation with income here too
