Sex, obscenity and AdSense

I read the TOS from AdSense, but wasn't clear.

What about a site that talks about sex very openly, often using slang terms? No pictures, it isn't a site for prurience. It's a how-to sex/seduction site, basically. But definitely not cold and medical.

Do you have any experience? What is allowed by AdSense? I could ask them but the site doesn't exist beyond my imagination yet.

I think this would be ok, thay say not "excessive" obscenity. Which I guess means some is ok. And the site I'm thinking of isn't a juvenile collection of bad words, it's just that they come up a lot in the text.

Like I said, there is no porn or pictures or selling anything. It's how-to for adults. Who are, of course, simply grown up children ;)

I wouldn't push it. I'd steer clear of anything related to obscenity.

I used to have that sort of site. When I asked google to review it, they said everything was cool and I could use adsense on it. It's best to just put the site together, have some pages up that accurately reflects the site direction, let google know your concerns and have them review it before putting any ads on it.

Good advice. Thanks. Glad to know your site was ok.

Is it no longer on the internet?

I had it running for like, 5 years or something like that. It's parked now. I just didn't feel like working on it or dealing with the type of people it drew in anymore.

I actually made more money with adbrite on it. Had adult site sponsors that paid a couple of hundred a week each for ad space on my sidebar.

Avoid putting adsense on such sites. You will get banned.

Some of the keywords that appear on your pages might be flagged as pornographic by Google. I wouldn't risk it.

qwestcommunications, check the thread posts before. I don't think it's that black and white with Google.

Since Adwords does'nt accept Sex related Ads so it will result in low CTR for you i.e their will be very less amount of relevant Adsense Ads.

Well, dating ads would be relevant to this. It's more of a social how-to, not an actual sex how-to. The two overlap sometimes of course, but it's generally about human interactions.

Anyway when the time comes I'll just make some pages and ask Google if it's ok. If not I'll monetize it some other way.

    Thanks everyone!
