I was just wondering a few things. Obviously, a minor with an adult is illegal but what about these situations? Two consenting teenagers (say 17 and 16) Now I read somewhere (some blog) that a couple got charged for taking pictures of themselves while having sex and that seems a little crazy but it was classified as child pornography. The second situation, with all of the adult chatrooms and teens getting involved in it - what if two teens consented and one of the teens did something on cam - now would this constitute as something illegal? Assuming one of them took a picture, maybe then it would be child pornography like before. Wow the sex laws aren't concrete, eh?
These laws vary widely from state to state so anything posted on a forum may not apply to your location. Most states have a minimum age for consenting to to sex and that applies even if the other person is under age or the same age. I seem to recall that some state has that set as low as age 14. It is almost never legal for a person over the age of 18 to have sex with someone under 18. Some states have an age difference rule. IE the older party can be no more than 2 years older than the younger party but both must still be underage. Best advice I can offer is run like hell from anything underage. They call it jailbait for a reason.
I pretty much knew this much but as far as the jailbait comment - I don't look at my son's friends in that way, well I'll agree they are developed but I wouldn't ever... *cough* Dateline NBC*
The situation you talked is quite controversial in my country , especially consenting teenagers' action in cams .
I'd need a good sleeping remedy to think it over If they are at the legal age to vote then they would be considered adults but if under that age there could be legal consequences involved. ROOFIS
justinlorder - that is my point. I went to an adult chat room one time to see what it is all about, pretty much just a bunch of horny guys BUT there were a decent amount of people there that were saying they are 13-f, 15-f, 16-f, 17-f, etc and that's kind of disgusting but then I consider it with my son (He is a member at a site that has a lot of those jailbait threads) and figure "He is 16 and looking at 16 year olds, what's the harm" so I figure that if he did anything sexual (consenting) either in real life or online with a girl of the same age, how can this pose a problem? ROOFIS - that was obviously just a translated version of what I wrote...cause I speak jibberish too
I must have missed your purpose in your first post. Sorry. In real life as long as the girl or her parents don't change the consenting part I don't think there would ever be a problem other than the normal consequences. I don't really stay on top of this since my youngest is now 30 but I think there have been some changes to the laws regarding computers, internet and graphic displays regarding minors. I would urge you do do some research and share the information with your son. His viewing the images may violate some of the recent laws even if both parties are the same age. This Google search term may help you. The one article I scanned shows severe changes in a picture policy even for innocent nude photos of under 18.
You got to watch these sex laws. I don't see anything wrong with two people of like age doing anything, after all back in the day a lot of our parents got married at 14-15, but to put it on camera? naw thats going too far, besides its an un-necessary risk.
there is a lot of hypocrisy when it's well known that teenagers are doing a lot of illegal sexual things... I don't know for what the laws are...maybe to point the finger at some of them from time to time
well all i have to say about this is leave the youngster's alone, and if you cant and get caught well then do you want everyone around you to know that your a child molester?
