Several websites running Adsense, only one with Interest-based ads

    Hi all,

    As the subject says, I have multiple sites all showing adsense and one where I would like to enable Interest-based ads. The others should just serve ads relevant to the content.

    Can I do this from the same AdSense account?

    Under "My account" -> "Settings" it doesn't seem so as it, in my eyes, will change the ads on the other sites as well - although it sounds unlikely that this customization is not possible - ?

    I know that, and I already do this - thing is, I want to run ads relevant to my content on 10 different sites and then, on one single site, I would like serve ads based on user interests.

    In adsense, it looks like this is a site wide choice - interest based ads or not.

    Or should I open another account?

    Looking forward to some answers - gotta be someone in here!

    see ads will always be relevant to content ... you can not have ads based on your interest .. but you can block few ads ...

    Hi nirajkum - what do you mean: "you can not have ads based on your interest" - are you familiar with interest based ads or am I missing something here?

    This is from Google help:

    "Advertisers use placement targeting to display ads on specific sites and pages in the AdSense network. Placement-targeted ads reach users visiting specific sites, independent of their interests.

    Interest-based advertising, on the other hand, reaches users based on the sites they've browsed and the interest categories they choose. Interest-based ads are shown to users based on their specific interests, rather than at a specific site or page.

    For example, an advertiser selling footballs could reach customers through both types of advertising. They could use placement-targeted advertising to display their ads on specific football-related sites, and interest-based advertising to display ads to users in the sports interest category on sites without content specific to football."

    Based on that answer, it sounds like you can do both within the same account. I don't see why it would change the ads on your other sites. Isn't the code for interest based ads different from the code on your other sites?
