Cell PS3 its the new processor used in the PS3

After much hyperbole and conjecture, tech giants Sony, Toshiba and IBM today lifted the lift on the microprocessor they have jointly developed. The firms claim that their new technology is ten times more powerful than current market-leading chips; and are specifically designed with 'rich-media' and broadband in mind. The Cell CPU will first be used in Sony's PS3, a Toshiba TV and an IBM workstation. A debut in 2006 is promised; and even Intel are said to be within Cell's sights now.
