Hi folks I only have one domain (mine) authorized to display ads but just today I stumbled onto a link in my AdSense admin section that said "There are unauthorized sites that have displayed ads using your AdSense publisher ID within the last week. Please click here to view them". So I clicked on the link and was shocked and upset to see a long list of IP addresses as well as several anonymous proxies and a link to "ask.com". When I traced the IP's they all came back to Google or Yahoo. Why would either of these be "unauthorized"?. I'm not sure what motive was behind the proxies other than to obviously obscure someone's activities but what were the people behind this hoping to gain?...having my account disabled?...hoping to make $$$ using my AdSense ID?. Then there's the "ask.com" link. What's that all about?. Ask.com is a legit site so what was going on here?. So many questions. I've just never seen this section of my AdSense account and was shocked to see so much activity there. What could be going on here?. Thanks for any help on this!.
The proxies link is probably when someone visits your site under a proxy url and clicks on an ad. As for the ask.com link its probably someone clicking on an ad on your site from a cached page on the ask search engine. Thats what i think happened but you might want to send an email to the adsense team explaining the issue before they penalize you for it because it clearly wasn't your fault.
