    Spammers always get the wrong idea and they just submit.
    I did one free promotion at Ask only for new categories and asked people to post on the thread the category they wanted and the link, some of then just went straight to the directory and submitted. Umdum had a similar promotion only for empty categories the owner told me people just submitted like crazy to categories with more than 1 listing.
