In the course of doing some website reviews tonite, I came across two movie sites that allow you to watch streaming videos. Seven Pounds was among those movies. Since I can't afford the theater right now, I thought I'd watch it here, in the comfort of my home. It's a good thing I did, because they would have had to physically remove me from the theater for all the crying I did at the end. I give this movie 10 out of 10... BUT I HATE THE ENDING... it's SO sad. Movies like The Bucket List and even Titanic, back in its day, made me cry... but not like this one. It just wasn't FAIR! I'm still crying, and it's not that easy to make me cry! Since I've been here at DP all night, and needed some place to rant... thanks for letting me complain. ~cj
The short answer would be survivor guilt. I really don't want to give away too much, but it's a GOOD movie. Just very sad. I think it's Oscar worthy, too.
The director of the movie can't satisfy everyone and if you are deeply affected by the climax, then the director is successful in making the film a box office hit
I agree it was a great movie. Are jellyfish that deadly though?! Either way, I never saw that coming (the way it ended)
Ooh! I can't wait to see it now. I love movies that are able to make me emotional (of course, it's not that hard, but hey)!
I think, if jellyfish are that deadly, it's because he couldn't get away from it, ya know? But I, too, have to wonder if they took a little license with that. However, I DID see this coming. I figured it out by the time his brother showed up at the girl's house. That's when I started getting really upset. I kept asking myself, why was he so mean to the blind guy? Why did he give his house away? And why did we keep seeing little flashbacks? Things that make you say, hmmmm... Ya know? Dairyman is right! The director did his job well! ~cj
I found the suggestion made by Smith's character about banana peels as curious as did the neighbor he told it to. So I looked it up. He's right! It's a great addition to... what they were talking about. ~cj
I really liked the movie, I'd def. pay to see it again despite the sadness. Not really my type of movie, but great none the less.
Can you PM me the link to the site please and thank you. Been looking forward to seeing this movie since I seen an interview with Will Smith in regards to it.
Oh! Sorry I missed your post. Been busy with the holidays! I ll go find those sites again and PM you! ~cj
