Hi DPans ! Can anyone give me pointers related to a 'Free' podcast player which can be setup on your website. Basically here's what I want to do - 1. I've mp3s recorded in my voice (they are my own creations ) 2. I've a domain with lot of webspace. So I will create a folder 'songs' and put all my mp3s in it. 3. I want to display a player which will display a list of mp3s stored on my directory and allow users to play any song of their choice. 4. I'd not want to allow users to download the mp3s on their computer. So, please let me know how is this possible. Please do provide the link to such free player. I've searched google but couldn't really find useful stuff. -The Big K-
Hi Big K Check out http://loudblog.de/ this is free (yay) and will cover 1,2 and 3... re 4, not sure what you mean here, as the very idea of a podcast is it's ability to be downloaded and listened to at another more convienent time... like jogging through the park with your ipod... ps... needs mysql and php
thanks for the information loress I'm looking for something different. As I mentioned, I'd just want to create a spearage directory say mysite/podcast where a media player will be displayed. Users will be able to select from the list of mp3s which will be played online (without having to download anything) A plugin is available for wordpress which does the job. Its called PodPress. I'm looking for something simliar to have on my own. any other inputs will be appreciated -The Big K-
i think you are missing the concept here - if you really want to podcast, you should allow download - that way your audience can listen to your recordings in their car, running, train, etc. most OSs shipping with PCs and MACs offer MP3 playback native today. perhaps you should consider flash instead of mp3 and ask for audio help instead of podcasting? 'cause that is not what you seem to really want.
