    Hi All,

I am trying to set up the co-op on a new site but i get this error:

failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized in /home/content/s/k/y/skydiving/html/ad_network_180.php on line 40

I have contacted the host but they say: "The file_get_contents function makes use of the fopen function during its execution. Unfortunately we do not allow the fopen, fwrite, fread, or file functions in PHP. The security issues that can be caused by these functions make it impossible for us to open access to them on our servers."

Are they telling the truth about security issues? and is there any way to implement the co-op without the use of these functions?

Failing that I will take my hosting elsewhere.

    Thanks.

Your host is full of it. I'd be finding a new host right away and ask for any money back that I've already spent with them. As far as I'm concerned any configuration that does not allow what you're talking about here is non-functional. If they're as paranoid about security as they seem to be they should probably be in a different business.
