If you wanted to set up a similar website set up to You Tube but its kind a different spin on it, how do you protect the idea?

I get that question alot As far as I know there is no a way to protect a new concept or special niche. The first one to go to market with a new idea is usually the most succesful if you can assoociate the concept with you or your domain and you have the resources behind you Youtube is a great example there were quite a few who tried to replicate their success but no one even came close
Won't argue on the copyright issue here, will just point out that if anyone is looking after a Youtube like website, I can build one out
