Setting Up Windows Server

I am looking at an option to send out lots of newsletters and came across Webcampaignmanager.com - which looks really cool.

Based on my limited knowledge, turn here for some help.

How difficult would it be to set up a windows server in my house and simply send out newsletters from here? Obviously based on a lot of different things that is for sure.

Let's say 50,000 email addresses on a daily basis, would my ISP end up hunting me down for that?

Your ISP would properly shut down your connection for sending out spam. Before setting up a web server on your home connection, you should also contact your ISP to make sure they allow that.

I would recommend that you do not set up a server at home due to a number of reasons. Your better off purchasing a cheap Dedicated Server.

Thanks for the feedback. What do you think a dedicated server would cost monthly?

It's likely to be pretty hard to find a host that will allow you to send out that volume on a daily basis. I would suggest looking for a host/company or service that specializes in hosting bulk email apps. At the very least, make sure that you let any new host know what you are going to be doing, or you may end up with a suspended account.. Good luck!

I would say it depends on the nature of your newsletters. Are they opt in users or are they purchased for spamming purposes? If it is the latter you can be expected to be banned quite soon. But if it is opt in authorized newsletters, chances are the ISP may be able to let you continue.
