Hi all, I am crap with microsoft office stuff so am begging for help I need to get email going to certain address to go into their own folder and not in the general inbox. I am getting like 300 plus emails hitting my inbox and it is causing me hassle . Can anyone give me a step by step guide on how to setup an outlook rule that will drop email going to into a specified folder in outlook. I like being told when I earn money but this is now starting to be a problem as I am missing emails etc. I am using win2k and outlook 2002 Thanks in advance OWG
1. Make the folder and add as a contact in your contact list. 2. Grab mouse and put pointer to 'Tools'. 3. Click on 'Tools'. 4. Move pointer to 'Rules Wizard' and click on it. 5. A box opens. Click top right 'New...'. 6. Click the top option 'Check messages when they arrive'. 7. Click Next > 8. Tick 'Sent to people or dostribution list' 9. Click on the underlined 'people or distribution 'list in the bottom pane'... Hang in there for part two... Part deux... 10. Select from the contact list (you added it earlier) and chuck it in the right pane. 11. Click OK so you're back in the Rules Wizard. 12. PayPal me some money 13. Tick the top choice, 'move it to a specified folder' 14. In the bottom pane click the underlined 'specified' and select the folder you created earlier. 15. Add or skip exceptions (you'd normally make exceptions if subject contains FWD or RE so they don't get overlooked). 16. Click next and give the dog a name and turn on the rule. 17. Click finish and/or run the rule. 18. Well done James!
