    Hi All,

Say you had a domain name like i.e "nba.com" and you wanted to set up an email service so people could register thier "name@nba.com" how would you go about this?

Is there anything in cpanel or fantastico that allows you to do this?

I have had a look but cannot find it.

    Thanks

    Carl

There are a few options. You could outsource to another company to handle the hardware and software or buy your own email server and secure the box etc...

I would do a lot of research before going in to this as email can be a pain to deal with when you have to beat up spammers on your network.

Google has a beta program out for hosted emails, you may want to look at that.

    I wouldn't go that far if I wouldn't have:

    - a stable server

    - very good legal issues solver (aka lawyer) which is able to understand the law regarding the law, and the Internet

    - years of feedback from previous experiences (imagine that I'm creating 1000 accounts on your service just for delivering spam messages)

    - a good system administrators team who's always there to help when the server stucks.

Why it is so important? Imagine if your service goes big, you'll get flooded with mails and mails coming to you.

A decent email server admin software could be googled in an instant and I found prices from 800$ to 4200$, depending what you have in mind.

You can get that service through Yahoo (their prices are very reasonable) or through networksolutions.com for example.
