How hard is it to setup an windows unmanaged VPS only for the use of Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)? Is there any special knowledge required?

Ok, So I finally got the VPS and was able to login RDP without any problems, but now I cannot figure out how to gain online access via IE.

I added google.com to the trusted zone, but it still does not allow me to access the internet using RDP. Do you have an idea what I would need to to do to gain online access?

You probably need to change your browsers security settings. On a VPS/ Server IE will be set to restricted mode by default which will give you a number of warnings when you browse the web. Cheers.
