Dear friends, Romans, and my fellow digital country men, lend me your ears, as I have a question. Bit dramatic? Ok I will tone it down. Working on a SAAS and seriously contemplating taking the affiliate route to take it to market. So, I thought I will float the idea here and see what you all have to say about that as an idea. Anyone out there been successful with promoting your products via affiliates? How was your experience. Thanks in advance for taking the time to comment on this and helping out a affiliate noob!
If you own the product, setting up an affiliate program for it is certainly a good idea. I do recommend that you first prove your product and marketing campaign to be successful. You'll also need to create marketing materials for your affiliates to use in the advertising of the product. A few questions do come up. For instance: Do you know how to create banners and sales copy? How much commission do you plan to pay? What platform will you use for your affiliate program? Do you know how to contact potential affiliates? There are others on the forum who can give more input but that's a start I think.
7 steps to start the best affiliate marketing program 1. Set goals for your program 2. Analyze your competitors’ affiliate programs 3. Decide on the right affiliate commission 4. Decide on other key aspects of your program structure 5. Start finding affiliates 6. Recruit and train your affiliate team 7. Keep track of how your affiliate program is doing
Of course that you can be very successful with trying to promote products through affiliate links, but first, you need to find an adequate network for it and try to join somewhere where you can get the best opportunities and earn more. So, you'll need to do your own research on this and see which networks are suitable for you, which niches could be good and not too competitive, where you could achieve the most with the promotion of the product.
