Setting up a wordpress blog

How do I set up a wordpress blog on my own web site?

I have been to wordpress and downloaded the files, do I need to download additional programs like MySQL & phpMyAdmin? Or should these be available from my service provider?

    Thanks in advance.

Do you have cPanel with Fantastico? That does it automatically.

my sql should come with your hosting provider, then you just need to set up the database and create a user for the database, then just go to http://www.yourdomain.com/install to start the wordpress installation.
