Setting up a separate bank account for Paypal

I'm sure this is a pretty common issue. We're setting up a Paypal account for our business and want to give a couple of employees the ability to make payments using this account. However, we're concerned about this because in theory they could send a lot of money (up to the max in our account?) to anyone.

We're contemplating setting up a separate bank account and just using Paypal with this second account. However, I'm not sure if that's the best way to do accomplish what we want.

    Thoughts?

I think a separate account for paypal is a good idea in general. I don't do it for the same reasons but I believe it makes everything a little more convenient and easier to take care of any mishaps.

Tough question? I personally would not allow employees access to my PayPal account. It is just too open ended.

Why do you feel you need this option?

Best bet is to set up a PayPal account funded only by a credit card and have as low a limit as you need.

I don't know if it is feasible but can you get your employees bonded. I am not sure bonding applies to your own business's funds.

I outsource a lot of work (customer service etc), but only two people have access to the paypal accounts. Since we started this, we just make sure both people have cellphones with net access, then any important or urgent payments can always be made immediately if needed, no matter where we both are. All it takes is a quick call from someone in the office and it can be sorted right away. Far better than trusting everyone to be careful with your passwords etc.

well, for business accounts you can surely create multi-users username to access your account.
I suggest you to limit the users and not allow all of them to send money with your paypal account.
they can only verify if any payment has been done.
    actually, I prefer Vic_mackey's idea.

well i had the same sort of decision to make for my company, however i opted to deal with all payments myself. if payments or cheques had to be sent to other companies, or people that would all be dealt with by me, where as payments that was being made TO my company id allow my employees to deal with.

that way you remove the risk of them making a mistake with your hard earned money.

Paypal has an employee access feature that only gives each employee certain rights. Check it out

Trusting someone with your bank account with full access to draw is not something I would consider. Paypal makes it way too easy. Though I think you can have limited access users in your paypal account. That means they do not have any rights to send...this is only to manage the account. Please type multi users access in paypal help. I did a research on this quite a while back. MY info could be outdated.
