    Hi

Im trying to set up a new domain.

I parked www.desktopgifts.com in a existing server, when i go to www.desktopgifts.com it takes me here..
    http://www.desktopgifts.com/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi

But if i put in www.desktopgifts.com/index.html the page comes up without the under constuction image..

Im using cpanel with Apache: HTTP Server

    Thank you for any help..

I have tried browsing the domain as posted & shows a under construction page. It shows a default cPanel page when domain points to IP other than the one in VirtualHost. But, looking at your domain, it does not looks like it. Most probably cache on your machine/browser.

When a new ip address is set for the domain or the ip address in Nginx configuration differs from ip in Apache configuration ( in case they are both installed on the server), cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi page may appear for domain.

This page also appears for the site when the DNS are not update from the side of the server yet. That is why it is advisable to clear the browser cache and check the site performance via proxy, for example using http://anonymouse.org.
