My registrar is Dynadot. I am not sure if I setup things correctly, maybe someone can help? I want to make use one of my domains as the name server. For this posting I will call that domain name, "nameserver.info". I logged into Dynadot for this domain and went under the, "Advanced Dynadot DNS" setting. For the domain record I entered an, "A" as a record type and then entered the IP I want to point it to, "xxx.xx.xxx.x25 ". Do I need to do anything more on the REGISTRAR SIDE (Dynadot)? So if I setup everything correctly on my VPS and setup, ns1.nameserver.info to IP "xxx.xx.xxx.x25 " and ns2.nameserver.info to IP "xxx.xx.xxx.x26 ". If I want to send any domain to my VPS no matter if I want to place it on a static or dynamic IP all I have to do is point that domain to ns1.nameserver.info and ns2.nameserver.info on my REGISTRAR SIDE? This is assuming I handled everything correctly on my VPS of course. Thanks
If you're using DynaDot's DNS for the ns1 and ns2 records, then yes, it looks ok. Most registrars offer an option to 'register nameservers', where your ns1.nameserver.info and ns2.nameserver.info become centrally registered, which might be something to look into.
