I am having trouble setting up a mailing list. I want it so that people type their email addy into a box click "subscribe" or something and then i can email them with updates/news etc

I tried one called "mailman" but when i used it and sent the mailshot to one of my own email addresses it put it straight in the spam box!

Can anyone help me out here?

    Thanks very much

You might want to consider using CampaignMonitor. It's a paid service, but it's cheap, reliable, easy to integrate into your website, and very well put together.

I must admit it looks quite good, but I am looking for one that is free really. Thanks though

Don't forget to put a monetary value on your time spent hunting down and implementing a free tool. It might still be a better deal to spend the time, but you should definitely think about it. ;)

PHPList is free/GPL and seems that has a lot of features.
I did not try myself so can say how good is.

this is the one I used actually!

overall it's not too bad - having a few problems editing it...i think they do this on purpose. I've set it up - its only asthetic stuff now.

this is what i've had to do with it. www.nottinghamstudent.co.uk/Homepage.html

really i wanted it as a box on the site which you just type into rather than going to another page - wasnt sure how to do this though

Ok have imported all emails to the list and I am enjoying this script I would give it 7/10 because it is not very easy to edit
