Ok I used the "add a DNS zone" function to add ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com using the two ip addresses available on my server. the question is now what? I need to set the nameservers on godaddy but i get an error. Any help or advice would be great. thanks

The nameservers at godaddy need to be propagated, and you need to assign the IP address and assign the a entries. Until it propagates, you'll get some errors.

You need to first choose the option of child nameservers and add ns1 and ns2 child nameservers from godaddy's domain control panel. You will only be able to use ns1 and ns2 nameservers once you create child nameservers.

It will be better if you could post an exact error message.
