Hello! I have a few domain names registered at Godaddy and a website where I sell those domains. I would like to know what is the best option, both for SEO and for selling the domains: 1 - Change de domain names server at each domain name, so they point to the website where they are sold? 2 - Don't change de dns and simply redirect each domain name to its individual page within the sales website? Thanks!
If you're selling the domains, then shouldn't you relinquish control of the sold domain to the buyer?
Hello HMB Shiraz. You are correct. But before the domains are sold, which would be the best solution? Right now, I have just parked them with Godaddy. But which solution would be better to provide a better exposition: change DNS or simply redirect each one to it's page? Or is it not relevant?
Thanks for the clarification. I don't think it matters, as it's just a different setting in DNS. It really shouldn't have any effect on how much exposure your site gets. Best of luck with the sale!
Just wanted to say that changing name servers may take much more time to take effect than when you just change forwarding. Both options are ok in your case, but forwarding is just faster.
Hello vh6889! That's interesting. Could you elaborate on that, please. How is that easier to sell the domains?
If it is on sale on a public auction, you want to let website visitor knows that it is for sale. Redirecting to auction page might be good, but it might also confuse buyers. If you have hosting, you can put a big banner to let visitor knows it is for sale and link to auction page. If you are passively selling it, parking is good for some small revenue. However, if you park it you should also let visitors know that it is for sale. It will be better to park it to the seller website if they display such message.
