Basically openserving is a free web service using which you can run a hosted wiki+blog+articles site for your community/area of interest. They take care of providing MediaWiki installed in the backend, the web space and the bandwidth.

You will have to enter your openserve address and your site would be that.openserving.com. For example, I signed up for http://web2.0.openserving.com. google ad code field during the registration is your Google AdSense account’s google_ad_client parameter value that starts with pub.

To get an idea of how your openserved site is going to be like, check the tour.

    Features:

    • You can start your site on any topic (assuming the name is available)
    • You get all of the ad revenue
    • You and your users can write articles
    • Articles can be voted and commented on
    • Articles with the most votes make it to the front page (like digg)
    • Site owners can add additional feeds with related topical information
Go ahead and start your own free wiki/social site. This is new stuff and hence you might be able to grab a site name of your choice.
