Set up permanent Affiliant referral link on someone's PC (for Office Depot)?

I have no idea if this is possible, but I have a family friend who runs a business and does tons of transactions through Office Depot every month. I told him that I am getting into AM, and I was wondering if there was any way to put some sort of cookie on his work machines, so that his sales would be done through my affiliate link.

I guess I could sign up as an affiliate and have him manually use my link each time he makes a purchase, but I'm trying to make this as unobtrusive as possible. I haven't asked about having me refer all his sales, but if there was a way where I could set this up on his PCs without disturbing their regular business, I may be able to convince him to allow it.

So basically what I'm asking is: Is there a way to get credit for all his sales through Office Depot without too much effort on their part.

You could just setup up a bookmark in his browser and tell him to use it.

You would probably need to have a bit of programming experience. The best thing for you to do would be to build a program that automatically takes any orders his company receives and puts them into your affiliates system.

You might have some problems with this though. Check with your affiliate to MAKE SURE that they allow referrals through software. Tell them what your plans are. I can guarantee that they will not allow you to do this the way that you are saying.

They will want to see a website owned by you that installs this program by user's request.

I would recommend that if you do manage to get such a program built, that you also put together a website as a front. People who visit your website should see something like:

"The Office Depot order program makes running a small business easy. Gone are the days where your employees have to manually place orders. Automate the whole process and download my free program NOW!"

Granted you don't have to actually rely on the website to convert at all. The website would only be a front for what you are actually doing.

But yeah good luck with the programming. Remember to talk to your affiliate about this before you start or you could see thousands of dollars in commissions disappear!
