I was wondering if I can set a module width in Joomla 1.5 I am using a prefabricated template right now but it is getting to the point where it has been changed so much it nolonger is the same thing I downloaded. Anyways. you can see the site at www.journeyoftheanimals.com I have a module on the left side for the menu and other stuff put it is getting too full. I want to move some stuff over to the right but when I do that someone said the login on the right overlaps the text in the main body. Can I set a width for the main body and for modules? Like 50% width for main body and 25% each for left and right module? Seems like this should be easy to do and I will look around a bit on the net. But thought I would ask here first because it always helps confirm what I find on my own sometimes. If you need me to post any code from my site let me know. Oh I also do not know what to try editing...the css, html or templatedetails.xml (or whatever that last one was.) Thank you in advance for any help you can give.
you need to edit the template.css/index.php file. the module width can be set from there , it depends on the template ....it could either be hardcoded or could be done is css , you just have to find the right div and change the width from there. ps : sometimes you can find the width in parameters , try that .
Thank you. Where would I look for the parameters? I am so new to this. But trying to learn. I am using pa_ yellow fashion template by the way. I would change templates to get some of the stuff moved over to the right but this is the best template I found when looking around at the time. Plus I have put so much work into this site I would hate to try to start over.
Assuming your particular template was designed adjustable parameters, they can be found in extensions >> template manager >> template name.
