I have just got Service pack 3 download (update) for Xp. When installed it is sending the startup into a constant loop & will not stop. I have to turn the switch of at the wall? Can some one please offer some advise as to how to fix the problem ???? I am using XP with service pack2 (prior to the update) Baldy
I own several well known fast food restaurants. The franchisor rep came in and told us we had to add service pack 3 to all our cash registers. They run Windows XP. For two weeks, we could no longer accept credit cards. Even uninstalling sp3 didn't fix the problem. We had been using this software for six years or more.
Since it was released, I installed XP service pack 3 on several computers and never had issues but I've heard as well about users that have experienced errors due to many reasons (e.g. Amd based computer, Bit Defender ,a virtual drive installed or not enough free space on hard drive etc..). Here you could find some other useful information. Hope it will help you fixing that issue.
I never used to have a problem with SP3, but my laptop became really slow, So i reformatted it, and the reinstalled XP, now everytime i use it, if i plug in a USB device (anything) it BSoD's me, and it BSoD's me if i leave it alone too long aswell... so it left me with the dilemma of leaving it SP2 or switch OS, and in the end, I opted for Xubuntu
I installed Service Pack 3 on my mums computer a while ago and she didn't experience any problems, although I have heard many problems with it. My friend installed it and couldn't even turn their computer back on, they had to reformat it and then install all of their drivers again. Not good. I hope you find a fix for your computer problem, I'm sure there is one out there.
I forgot about that. My wife has to run Quickbooks so she has WindowsXP and I installed SP3 there. It ran really slow for a few days for whatever reason.
Try booting to safe mode (or recovery console) and performing a system restoration to another date, previous to when you installed SP3. Also, there should be some SP3 uninstallation files somewhere too if you chose to do so.
Boot in Safe mode and then run msconfig, where you can disable startup items... then boot in normal mode, and do the diagnostics or remove the sp3....
Right not I am using XP service pack 2 and i have also update & used service pack 3 but it is not better than the service pack-2. Its not user friendly like service pack-2 if u work faster than there is problem for hang your system or system may be crash so, its better to work on service pack-2 and don't update service pack-3
