Serverside Flash video converting

How hard is it to get videos already on the server converted to flash?

I am not doing a youtube thing, I just want to add betwen 15-20 videos to my site each day, but it takes forever to convert them, then upload etc.. Is there a program that can be installed on the server and will convert any file in a folder
from :

example54321.mpg , .wmv, etc...
to:

example54321.flv

There is obviously a way to do it, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Any help is appreciated.

ffmpeg can do this trick for you easily.
It's in linux and windows version.

 

ho0w hard is it to set this up on a server? Will it put a huge amount of stress on it?

For linux ,you should install some libraries like faad,lame .
By yum update and install should be easy.
